About Garden in Transit Sessions
What does a session look like?
There are two parts to a Garden in Transit painting session. The first
is the painting of the actual panels that will go on the NYC taxi-
cabs in the fall of 2007. The second is an educational component where
students talk about social issues that concern them and how they see themselves
as a vehicle for change. They then paint about their issue on a model
taxi -cab that they get to take home with them. Children also complete
short written statements and oral presentations. A participant's time
is split evenly between the painting and the educational components.
